As wildfires become more frequent and the effects of climate change increasingly visible, Pink Supreme is a striking reflection on our changing world.
Created by photographer Frieke Janssens, the series was inspired by the wildfires in Los Angeles, where Phos-Chek, a bright pink fire retardant, transformed entire landscapes into something almost surreal. The images no longer felt like documentary photographs, but rather conceptual scenes that blurred the line between reality and fiction.
Frieke started wondering: what if people stayed? Covered in pink, like the victims of Pompeii, suspended in time.
